Lee-Dickens has more than 40 years' experience in the design and
development of hardware and software based products for industrial,
aeronautical and process control applications. This experience is
demonstrated by our variety of standard products.
The essential ingredients for the success of any project are project
management, quality control and configuration management. Based
on Management-by-Objectives, critical path evaluation and the experience
of our staff, we have developed project procedures and evaluation
systems which are designed to ensure that timely decisions are made
based on accurate information, thus ensuring that projects are completed
on time and within budget. Continuing input from our customers,
achieved through regular project meetings, ensures their active
participation in our decision making process and maintains their
interests and objectives in full view throughout the project life
cycle.
Our hardware design team have many years experience of analogue
and digital hardware design. The team maintain pace with technological
advances using CAD facilities, and provide specialist interfaces
and housings as and when they are required.
If the product is to be microprocessor based or require an accompanying
Software package then our in-house software team can provide the
necessary expertise.
Hardware and Software development is carried out in accordance
with procedures laid down in our Design Engineering Practices &
Procedures (DEP&P) Manual which is approved to ISO9001 and the software
requirement of ISO900-03 Tick-IT.
Manufacturing and production have become more and more automated
over the years and our facilities are no exception. We now have
computer aided component placement machines, cropping machines,
flow-soldering machines and de-flux baths. However, there is still
a requirement for experienced operators at hand soldering components.
Our forte lies in the small batch build (10 to 200 units per month)
of high quality PCB's/assemblies.

Design and Build of Chemical Dosing Control equipment. Build
work including component procurement, PCB population, assembly
into moulded housing and functional testing.
|
Oil Industry:
Design and Build of an Intrinsically Safe Computer for use
on Drilling Rigs. The original design work was carried out
by others and Lee-Dickens have progressed it to a second generation
product. The new products have been put through BASEEFA approvals
for IS equipment. Build work including component procurement,
PCB population, assembly into special sheet steel enclosures
and functional testing.
Level Measurement:
Design and Build of a Communications Multiplexer for remote
monitoring of level measurement equipment. Build work including
component procurement, PCB population, and functional testing.
Battery Cycle Testing:
Design and Build of test equipment to cycle (charge and discharge)
batteries. Build work including component procurement, PCB
population, mounting in a sheet steel enclosure and, functional
and soak testing.
