Radar Station

The Sitewatch Remote Control and Monitoring Systems (RCMS) can be used to monitor any Primary or Secondary Radar, whether it is at an airport or at a remote station on a mountain top. Sitewatch can be used to monitor existing and new stations and can also incorporate ancillary items including Standby-power generators and UPS, Radios, and Fire/Intruder systems. We can provide monitoring solutions for all types of Radar including: PSR, MSSR, GMR, SMR, PAR, and IFF.

The interface to the Radar often uses SNMP, but other protocols are supported. Sitewatch Remote Terminal Units (RTU's) can be used at site providing legacy interface protocols and also monitoring for dry contact signals presented by the Radar and ancillary equipment. The status information is typically transported over existing TCP/IP networks, but Sitewatch can also use other communication media such as Mobile-data and LEOS networks.

The UK Navy and RAF rely on Sitewatch to monitor their Watchman Radar Stations. Each station has an RTU monitoring the transmitter, signal processing and combiners. Standby-power generators, UPS, Radios, and Fire/Intruder systems are also monitored. Live RCMS status information is visible in the ATC Rooms and also on maintainers’ workstations. Lee-Dickens have also taken care of transporting the combined ASTERIX Radar information using dual-redundant links between the Radar stations and ATC displays.
